Medical Missions January 2025
Medical Mission 2025
In January 2025, Global Compassion Resources launched a transformative medical mission to Eldoret, Kenya, in collaboration with Haven Recovery Center. Through three free community clinics, our team extended healing and hope to hundreds—building bridges of care and compassion that continue to ripple outward.
This vibrant team was a blend of seasoned volunteers and inspiring new additions, including one member who journeyed from Uganda. Our travels began in Los Angeles, with stops in London and Nairobi, where another teammate joined the effort. From there, we continued on to Eldoret, greeted at Haven Recovery Center by an outpouring of warmth, joy, and gracious hospitality.
That same evening, we were welcomed into a celebration of profound love and commitment: the 30th wedding anniversary of our hosts, Bishop Philip and Navy Rono. It was a night of heartfelt connection, setting the stage for the deeply meaningful days to come.
🩺 Medical Outreach & Clinic Impact
Our 2025 mission brought vital medical care to two communities near Eldoret:
Eden (about 45 minutes from the city)
Ndalat
Each day, our dedicated team served approximately 400 patients—a total of over 1,200 individuals across the mission. Services included general health consultations, minor surgical procedures, and pharmacy support, all provided free of charge.
👨⚕️ Our medical team comprised:
7 compassionate physicians
1 skilled nurse practitioner
A full team of pharmacy and support personnel
Since 2017, Global Compassion Resources has faithfully provided monthly pharmacy services to patients living with chronic conditions—an ongoing testimony to God’s provision and grace in sustaining this ministry.
Conditions we treat and manage include:
HIV (AIDS)
Diabetes
Hypertension
Seizure disorders
Malaria
Fungal infections
Common childhood illnesses
Month after month, we witness our patients returning with restored health and renewed trust—a powerful reflection of what compassionate, consistent care can achieve.
💖 Compassion Beyond Clinics
Beyond medical outreach, our team cherished time spent with clients at Haven Recovery Center. One especially moving initiative came from a U.S.-based substance abuse counselor on our team, who brought a message of solidarity across continents.
📨 Before the journey, she coordinated with her recovery group in the U.S. to send handwritten letters of encouragement—reminding Haven’s clients that addiction knows no borders, and neither does compassion.
The letters were received with deep emotion and gratitude. In an unforgettable moment, Haven’s clients responded with their own heartfelt notes, soon to be delivered back to the U.S.—an exchange of empathy, dignity, and shared hope that transcended distance and language.
🌟 A Continuing Mission
This mission was not a one-time endeavor—it was part of a living legacy of service, relationship, and love. We remain deeply grateful for our Kenyan partners and the incredible work being done through Haven Recovery Center and the Global Compassion Resources family.
We return home humbled and inspired, committed to the journey ahead—life by life, month by month.

The darkness in Stella’s life is lifted by love
Stella came seeking help. Her face was completely covered with a veil. As she uncovered her face, it was swollen, and you could see fear in her eyes more than swelling. It was fear she had discussed with her family but could not be solved.

Guatemala Trip Report from Noemi
A REPORT FROM NOEMI GONZALEZ-LIZAMA, MSN, RN
My name is Noemi Gonzalez-Lizama. I was part of our church’s (Community Church Rancho) team that went to Guatemala with Ms. Sharon Baker. The Purpose of the mission trip was to assist in the construction of a Pre-school classroom. The leadership and members of the Coyolate community had expressed the need for expansion of their classroom. The team that arrived for this task was experienced in construction.

A Godly given vision to the communities
A Testimonial from Bishop Philip Rono
Global Compassion Resource is a Godly given vision to the communities. We've witnessed lives in the villages that could not be able to pay medical bills come to be treated at Eden, meeting with Doctors with a passion, for listening and very loving, getting well. Old men and women are very appreciative about Global Compassion Resource in Kenya. They always pray that the clinic will continue serving our people.

An honor and a joy to serve this community
Sarah Rono had requested funds to attend a training program where she learned to talk about preventive care. She is Bishop Rono’s daughter finishing medical school. I wanted to post her story below…
BY SARAH RONO
About 6 years ago, a team set out to hold a two-day medical camp in Kapsumbeiwet (the community where we hold medical camps and follow-up clinics.) It was the rainy season, bad roads, cars getting stuck on the muddy roads, and so much more.

Watching Sharon serve through Global Compassion Resource, many things became readily apparent. Here’s my observation…

Medical Camp Report (Jan 2023)
Receive warm greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We bless you our co-worker in Christ for the great support in God’s work we have kept running. Indeed, it’s a new year, another opportunity God gives us to continue perfecting His good works. On 21st Jan 2023, we carried out our free medical camp. We saw God’s hand in every activity we undertook that day. We arrived at the venue at 8:00 am with six personnel. We talked to the patients shortly and…
